Join our Quilting Bee
Everything in nature is connected: pollinators, plants, people, animals, and the land itself. To celebrate this interwoven world, we’re inviting you to take part in a community quilt!
No art experience? No problem! This is about creativity, connection, and sharing stories. Just like the land stiches us all together, let’s come together and make something beautiful!
STEP 1: Choose your square
Pick up a pre-cut fabric square at one of our participating locations or visit us at the Kidjīmāninān kiosk during our Summer 2025 tour throughout the Outaouais. See “Participating locations and kiosk dates” below.
Can’t make it to one of those locations? No problem! You can make your own by cutting cotton fabric into a 5-inch by 5-inch square.
STEP 2: Design and color your square
Use permanent fabric-safe markers or Sharpie markers to make your design. (Most locations will have markers available if you want to draw your square on site.) Remember to leave a tiny bit of space around the borders for sewing.
Draw a square that reflects INTERCONNECTEDNESS: whether it’s pollinators like bees and butterflies, the rivers that sustain us, the roots that run deep, or the relationships that hold us together. When all the squares are joined, they’ll form a tapestry of connection.
STEP 3: Share your design
Share your creation! If you wish, snap a photo of yourself with your square. Post it on social media using the hashtags #Kidjimaninan #OutaouaisFun #QuiltingBee #Interconnectedness
We can’t wait to see your designs and celebrate this project together!
STEP 4: Drop off your square
Return your completed square to one of the participating locations below. Participating locations will accept squares until 5 September 2025.
Or you can mail your square (by December 12, 2025) to:
